You have a selection of good establishments in Franz Josef Village which will cater to your needs. We have all the menus (with prices) available at Reception for your perusal. Below are some recommendations
For a Drink and Sports Bar – visit‘The Landing’ on the corner opposite the Scenic Hotel. With a selection of beers, wines and spirits, lively atmosphere with outdoor area, this is a good place to catch up for a yarn and summary of the day’s activities. They have a courtesy coach service too (see below)
For a Thai Meal – visit ‘The Snake Bite Brewery’ which is on the left hand side of the town as you drive South. It is a great place to enjoy a good meal and bottle of wine with family and friends.
For a Bit of Both– go to the cosy ‘Alice May’ Restaurant and Bar located on the corner of Cron and Cowan Streets. It’s Old West Coast Rustic atmosphere and good food and drink will make for a memorable evening. They have a courtesy service too (see below)
For Something A Bit Different – go to the ever popular ‘King Tiger’ Indian Restaurant located on Cron Street. It is a short walk from the main street but there is nothing like a curry to warm you up after a day on the ice! They have a courtesy service too (see below)
For Those a Bit More Discerning – go to the ‘Blue Ice’ Restaurant and Bar. The Bar is upstairs and Restaurant below. It is at the end of the town on the left hand side. They have a courtesy service too (see below)
Full of Beans< – they bake their own goods – so excellent for breakfast and a light lunch.
SOME RESTAURANTS OFFER A COURTESY PICK UP AND DROP OFF SERVICE SO THAT YOU CAN ENJOY THAT BOTTLE OF WINE OR BEER WITH YOUR MAIN MEAL. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MEETING THE LOCAL POLICEMAN BEHIND THE WHEEL AFTERWARDS!>
For that special occasion, the Blue Ice Restaurant will fetch you in their Stretch Hummer Limousine, on the proviso you have a main meal in their Restaurant.
